As a member of m + p, our ideal HR Associate is a self-starter, curious, organized and detail oriented. The position serves as a consultant to management on HR-related issues, seeks to develop integrated solutions, and formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to managers and employees throughout the business unit. You are responsible for ensuring that we continue to hire and retain the best talent. You will also have a hand in promoting our brand and developing strong and lasting relationships with hiring managers and external talent to continue improving our talent strategy. Our HR Manager/Recruiter will report directly to the SVP of Talent.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

  • Networking– Function as the primary resource for identifying and attracting candidates from various sources (colleges, job postings, online boards, networks, industry events etc.). Helping further the organization’s brand among potential candidates.
  • Recruiting – Full cycle recruiting responsibility for entry level, mid-level, and senior level roles within the organization. Prepare and execute offers to candidates and work with HR Coordinator to process new hires. Assist with on-boarding processes as needed.
  • Sourcing - Source and screen qualified candidates and qualify based off requirements determined in partnership with hiring managers and agency best practices, to include leveraging internet job boards, employee referrals, search engines, and web resume mining techniques.
  • Provide high levels of candidate engagement and clearly communicate expectations while managing the full lifecycle of the interview and hiring process; provide thoughtful feedback, negotiate, and close offers.
  • Schedule, track, and manage in-person, virtual and phone interviews across multiple time zones.
  • Provide regular status updates to Hiring Managers on recruitment for open positions; maintain various recruitment tracking and reports.
  • Provide counsel to leadership regarding trends in the marketplace, competitive intelligence and strategic recommendations for attracting the best talent and raising the profile of m + p as an employer of choice in various markets.
  • Serve as a principal consultant for the business unit's supervisors and employees by strategically and proactively recommending and implementing Human Resources solutions. Proactively consult with department/ program supervisors to address their business needs and objectives.
  • Guide managers through people-related matters to navigate change and support them in coaching, providing feedback, and managing performance.
  • Identify solutions to workplace issues or concerns.
  • Proactively identify the need for improvements to policies and work environment.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Identify training and other employee-focused program needs for departments.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated HR generalist experience focused in talent acquisition, employee relations, training, and development.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a full lifecycle recruiting role
  • Experience recruiting for roles related to the advertising agency world – production, creative, account services, preferred but not required.
  • Ability to build broad relationships across departments.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proactive contributor and natural collaborator, eager to further develop and learn the advertising/marketing industry.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
  • Experience sourcing and communicating with candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Prior experience working with and managing one or more applicant tracking systems

Desired Skills:

  • Two plus years of experience working in a strategic communications firm, insights agency, or strategy consulting firm is a plus.
  • Successful demonstration of relationship building and partnering with department heads.
  • Track record of actively recruiting candidates
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal, state, and local respective employment laws.

The range below represents the low and high end of the base salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of maslansky + partners in New York City.  Salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to professional and academic experience, training, associated responsibilities, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.

 

  • $70,000 – $90,000

 

The position includes all the standards like competitive compensation, health, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off, bonuses, 401k plans. Oh...and free lunch on Mondays!
