We are looking to partner with an exceptionalmedical / pharma freelance moderator to run focus groupsand in-depth interviewsfor the firm that invented Language Strategy®.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

  • Lead focus groups and IDIs with HCPs and patients.You will moderate online and hopefully sometime soon in-person group and one-on-one sessions with everyone from primary care physicians to specialists such as oncologists, rheumatologists, cardiologists, hepatologists, and gastro-enterologists, as well as nurses and patients.
  • Engage and energize participants and back-room clients.You will useyour energy, presence, humor, and a little theater to keep participantsand observers engaged and focused.
  • Think beyond the mod guide.You will keep your eye on the ultimate project objective and adjust in the moment to do what it takes to get answers.
  • Get up to speed on industryand client specifics.You will work quickly to develop a baseline of industry and client understanding so you canuse the right terms and details to get the most out of your audience.
  • Partner with our teamsonstrategic objectivesand approach.You willwork as an extension of our strategy team, understanding client objectives, using the team’s discussion guides and stimuli, and learningpotentially new technologies and methodologies.
  • Create findings summariesand lead internal debriefs.You willsynthesize findings, brief the strategy team on what you heard, and discuss implications.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience moderating complex topics with HCPs.We are looking for someone with a good understanding of medicine and enough of the science and biology behind it to catch important nuances when speaking with highly trained experts.
  • Excellent communications-oriented moderating chops.You have minimum 2years of experience moderating lively and engaging qualitative research sessions about marketing,communications, and messaging. You ask great questionsand anticipate client follow-ups. You listen to what’s NOT being saidand aren’t afraid to push back when you don’t believe what you’re hearing.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytic skills.You understand how to analyze problemsand synthesize information into meaningful insight.You are naturally curious, empathetic, and good at recognizing patterns in people’s behavior and responses. And you get excited about figuring out challenging puzzles in creative ways.
  • Outstanding communication skills.As a Language Strategy firm, our workis about finding the most effective language and message framing to achieve client business objectives. You will support this mission with your strong communication skills andappreciation of words, language, and effective communication.Background in or familiarity with advertising, public relations, or branding a plus.
