Job Locations US-NY-New York
Regular Full-Time

maslansky + partners is a language strategy and research consultancy that helps solve complex and high-stakes communication challenges for the world’s largest and most innovative companies, industry trade groups, and non-profits.

Clients look to us as experts in the art and science of persuasion.  We help clients find a compelling way to position themselves and their products to stand out in the marketplace and increase sales.  We help them build support for issues that matter to them and help them respond effectively to crises.  And we help them find more effective ways to break through the clutter, and engage and retain customers.

Our team is made up of people with deep intellectual curiosity, a passion for communication and language, and an interest in working with some of the world’s most successful companies to solve critical challenges.

Four reasons to join the maslansky + partners team:

  1. To never be bored: When you join our team, you don’t get stuck with a single client. You work across industries with diverse clients like JP Morgan Chase, Merck, Meta, Amgen, and many others.  You also work on a wide range of challenges, allowing you to see everything from brand positioning to crisis communication, issue advocacy to internal communication.
  2. To be challenged and grow: Our structure is built to create opportunities for you to develop.  We have small client teams that offer big opportunities.  We are not a machine and you are not a cog. If you are good, you will not get lost…your contribution will be recognized and rewarded.  We’ll make you a stronger strategic thinker, a better writer, and a more confident presenter, as part of a culture focused on feedback and committed to personal growth.  Everyone is assigned a coach/mentor with a stake in your career development.
  3. To make an impact: We actively look for opportunities to complement our corporate work with opportunities to support causes we care about. From our partnership with PENCIL to our Project Good Words program, we want to use our passion and expertise to support causes that matter.
  4. To have a good time: We do serious work but never take ourselves too seriously.  The best work gets done when great people like working together so that is the kind of culture we’ve created.  Lots of work and lots of fun to help you stay energized and engaged.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead client engagements: The Senior Director leads client teams to deliver compelling Language Strategies for clients. You’ll work with a partner or SVP and run the engagement from conception to presentation. Our engagements include a range of methodologies and approaches – from quantitative and qualitative research to data and analytics and language and message development. All in service of delivering strategic counsel to our clients about what to say, what not to say, and why it matters.
  • Build client relationships: Our business is built first and foremost by delivering exceptional work to our clients.  When we do that, they come back. You will help us cultivate and expand relationships with our clients to help us continue to expand the work that we do with them.
  • Contribute to our company direction: Even as our company grows, we maintain the best ideas come from everywhere in the organization. As a senior member of the team, you will have opportunities to help us determine which ideas deserve investment and how to turn them into reality.
  • Guide internal teams: The Senior Director works seamlessly with internal teams from various disciplines. You’ll mentor, coach and train junior language strategists on their knowledge journey.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience with strategic communication challenges. The right experience can come from a lot of places, but it is likely to come from 7-10 years of work as an agency strategic planner, brand marketer, corporate communicator, political campaign strategist, market researcher, linguist, or behavioral scientist.
  • Strong critical thinking skills. Every challenge we work on is a puzzle. We want to understand how you assess problems and approach the process of finding answers.
  • Strong communication skills. Whether you are standing in front of a client, delivering a strategy in powerpoint, or writing a memo or OpEd, you need to be able to communicate clearly, succinctly, and persuasively.
  • Experience with market research. If you have serious market research experience, that’s great. But experience working with research – as a client, agency, or otherwise – is a must.

The position includes all the standards like competitive compensation, health, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off, bonuses, 401k plans.  Oh…and free lunch on Mondays!
