What we’re looking for:

 

Reporting to the CFO, the Client Finance Director shall lead the commercial and operational management of our client relationships, including negotiations, onboarding, compliance, training, reporting and analysis, and related special projects. The Client Finance Director will be a solution-oriented business partner and someone that is skilled in negotiations, navigating the balance between client service and managing risk, communicating effectively, and prioritizing multiple deadlines simultaneously.

 

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

 

  • Oversee Client Onboarding – Partner with client teams to get projects started effectively and efficiently. Responsibilities include the following:
  • Commercial and legal negotiations (partnering with CFO/legal and/or M+P CEO/Partners as needed) of contracts, NDAs, SOWs
  • Review and analysis of client credit
  • Client and project onboarding oversight, including training as appropriate
  • Ongoing client commercial support to project teams 

 

  • Client Contract Compliance – support and guide the project teams to ensure the company receives the full value of all work completed. Responsibilities include the following: 
  • Work doesn’t commence without proper client authorization - contract and SOW or PO.
  • Project teams are briefed on important contract and SOW terms and obligations (travel, privacy, security, confidentiality, third parties, other policies) to:

                                              - provide a good client experience

                                              - mitigate risk to the company

                                              - ensure timely and accurate billing and payment

                 - support the flow down of important contractual terms to third parties,where appropriate

  • Partner with client sourcing / procurement / business leads as appropriate to spearhead any client contractual reporting or training obligations
  • Proactively manage, renew, and re-negotiate existing anchor client agreements
  • Spearhead and oversee internal reporting and review of client performance, including profitability and variance analysis.
  • Meet with teams regularly, or as needed, to review client and project performance to improve proposals, process, and overall client financial experience.
  • Ad-hoc training and socialization for project teams as needed. 

 

  • Commercial Best Practices – Responsible for establishing, improving and executing processes for:
  • Onboarding clients internally (finance, shared service center, project teams)
  • Invoicing & budget tracking
  • Project profitability
  • Third party interactions
  • Timely project reconciliation and close-out
  • Staff training

Qualifications

 

What you’ll bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with 8-10 years’ experience.
  • Agency, professional services or consulting firm experience preferred.
  • Deep understanding of financial accounting, P&L management, revenue recognition methodologies, billing and purchasing processes.
  • Strong financial analysis and management skills
  • Excellent leadership, ability to motivate and mentor others.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ambition, initiative and a track record of success.
  • Client-service minded with an ability to promote positive working relationships.
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple time-sensitive projects.
  • Organization and planning skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Not afraid to challenge the status-quo and suggest process improvements.
  • Full knowledge of the Microsoft suite, proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
