What we’re looking for:


Research is at the core of our business and is an essential part of our offering.  We are looking to significantly expand the size and scope of our quantitative research business and are seeking a Vice President of Quantitative Research to help lead that effort. 


What you’ll do:


Your role will include a number of important components from strengthening our current offering to developing new products that help us to achieve our larger strategic goals.   This will include:

  • Quantitative Research Execution: you will work with multiple client teams to pitch, execute, and deliver customized quantitative research to our clients.  Research is predominantly focused on message and language testing, public affairs message strategy, and marketing and positioning research.  You will:
    • Work with client teams to plan, design, and successfully complete the quantitative component of larger engagements
    • Take ownership for quality planning and execution of all projects undertaken by the team
    • Be the subject matter expert on our work
    • Formulate value-added insights on projects to provide strategic advantage for clients
    • Ensure that client deliverables meet or exceed our standards
  • Strategic Growth:
    • Work with our leadership team to develop and execute a strategy to grow our quantitative research business or improve the quality of our insights and outputs
    • Design and develop new products or methodologies that meet identified market needs and integrate key disciplines including cognitive psychology, socio- and psycholinguistics, semiotics and / or data science and analysis.
    • Work on client proposals and develop clients to serve directly.
  • Management and Organizational Growth Responsibilities:
    • Develop and implement robust infrastructure, tools, and training to improve our processes, ensure consistency, and develop our team.
    • Over time, build an internal team to own a broader scope of responsibilities including programming and data analysis.
    • Manage relationships with all quantitative sample and data collection partners.


What an ideal candidate will bring:

  • At least 10 years of experience in a leading market research or management consulting firm
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and proven track record of achievement in developing new products, increasing revenues and building teams
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills and the ability to create true insight and tell stories from research findings
  • Subject matter expertise and extensive experience in end-to-end quantitative research: from pitching to design, execution, analysis, and presentation
  • Extensive experience with messaging, positioning, reputation, public affairs, and/or political campaign research
  • Deep knowledge of behavioral science and experience applying it to quantitative research projects
  • Experience collaborating with various stakeholders in a high-volume, deadline-driven, process-oriented, client-servicing environment
  • Superior communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong technical skills and comfort evaluating and adopting new technologies (for research and across the broader organization)
  • Ability to use SPSS and/or other statistical software packages is a plus
