We work with Fortune 500 companies, trade associations, non-profits, and public policy groups to help them address their most important communication and messaging challenges. We’re seeking a Vice President of Talent to be a strategic partner with the executive team and support the growth of our business and our people.

     

    Our firm is guided by the simple idea that it’s not what you SAY that matters, it’s what they HEAR. We use research to advise our clients what to say, what not to say, and why it matters.  We passionately believe that for PR, marketing and advocacy efforts to be successful, they must have the right words, phrases and framing. Though small, we have a large impact. We work on major communication challenges for Fortune 500 companies, trade associations, non-profits, and public policy groups around the country and the world.

     

    Responsibilities

    Our organization has grown rapidly over the past decade.  As we start on the next stage of our growth, we are looking for a Talent Leader who can help us succeed. You will have a fantastic opportunity to join the leadership team at a critical moment and help us define the strategies to retain, hire, motivate, and train the people who are central to our success. 

     

    This is a new role, bringing together a range of responsibilities.

    • Organizational Development:  To continue our growth, we need to critically evaluate our organizational structure. You will help us evaluate the strengths of our current structure and identify opportunities for improvement over time. This will include managing staff planning, succession planning, compensation and benefit planning, and other organizational development initiatives.
    • Talent Management:  You will lead our talent development programs including management of our talent review processes, employee retention programs, staff coaching and individual development planning, and related programs.  You will also manage and be responsible for executing our talent acquisition efforts with internal and/or external resources.
    • Learning and Development: You will be responsible for working with our Employee Experience manager and other members of our team to develop and execute an exception learning and development program.
    • Employee Experience: You will partner with our Employee Experience manager to proactively suggest best practice programs to instill a high-performance culture and improve engagement, solve employee issues by acting as an employee and leadership advocate.

    Qualifications

    • 7-10 years of related talent development experience – ideally in a professional services environment
    • Degree and / or certifications in organizational psychology or related disciplines, strongly preferred
    • Talent and development practitioner who is motivated to understand the intricacies of the business and the role talent plays in driving it
    • Self-starter who is passionate about people and developing new programs to attract and retain top talent
    • Experience working closely with all levels and comfortable providing counsel and strategic recommendations
    • Energetic and enthusiastic personality, innate ability to build rapport easily and desire to continuously push the envelope on talent and development offerings and programs
    • Experience creating and executing strategic programs and strategies to increase employer-of-choice brand awareness
    • Collaborative, agile, flexible, and comfortable working in a fast paced, high-demand environment
